Brentford vs Swansea City Betting Tips Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Rhian Brewster Swansea 2020

Brentford will be out to overturn a 1-0 deficit when they welcome Swansea City to Griffin Park in the second leg of their Championship play-off semi-final on Wednesday.

Brentford just fell short of an automatic promotion place despite recording seven wins a row following the restart, and are 3/5 (1.60) with bet365 to come out on top in 90 minutes here.

Steve Cooper’s men snuck into the play-offs with a dramatic 4-1 win at Reading on the final day of the season and bet365 make them 9/2 (5.50) to secure their place at Wembley with victory in London.

A draw would be enough to see the Swans through to the final and that is priced at 3/1 (4.0) with the online bookmaker.

Brentford have appealed Henry’s red card and the left-back could be available for the second leg, but Dominic Thompson or Mads Roerslev Rasmussen willdeputise if it is not overturned.

Kyle Naughton was suspended for the first leg but is available for this one, whilst Wayne Routledge faces a late fitness test after going off in Swansea’s victory at Reading last week.

Swansea were deserved winners of the first leg in south Wales but in truth it could have been a much higher scoring game, with players on both sides guilty of missing golden opportunities.

Slightly more composed finishing from the likes of Rhian Brewster and Ollie Watkins – as they have demonstrated throughout the season – could lead to more goals this time around.

Brentford had the best attack throughout the season, netting 80 goals, but their usually staunch defence has kept just one clean sheet in their last six fixtures.

It is a similar story for Cooper’s side, who have scored 17 times since the restart but managed only three clean sheets in that 10-game span.

Although the tie is still in the balance, it could be a fairly open affair in west London and bet365’s price of 10/11 (1.91) on over 2.5 goals offers good value for punters on Wednesday night.
